Question: Where did I find time to "read" 200 books in 2008? Last year I went on a
media fast to rethink my media consumption and to free up wasted time. I limited my intake of the
24-hour news networks by
Tivoing a maximum of one hour per week each of
CNN,
BBC, and
NHK. I then fast-forwarded through TV ads and non-news and watched the rest with with the 2X accelerated speed function.

Results? 30 minutes per week to get the same information -- minus the speculation and doom and gloom panic scenarios -- it would have previously taken me hours to acquire. Try it. You'll like it.
SPOOKY TRIVIA: A
survey released last month says people in the U.S. watch an average of 151 hours of TV a month. According to the
Economist, people in
Japan watch less TV at home--but I have a feeling many waste even more time glued to their
cell phones.
