Here I'm doing a little drinking with some Zen monks at the main Soto sect temple near Tokyo where I have been sitting on and off for several years. Since Buddhists aren't really supposed to drink alcohol, sake is referred to covertly as 般若湯 (hannyato), "wisdom water".
